Samsung is rolling out a new One UI 6.0-based update for Galaxy S23 users enrolled in the beta program. However, it isn’t the fourth beta build. Instead, the company is pushing a minor hotfix update to patch some critical bugs present in Beta 3, which arrived last week.
The latest One UI 6.0 beta update for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra is already available in most of the markets where Samsung has opened the beta program, i.e. China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US. The new firmware build number ends with ZWIB, while the OTA (over the air) package weighs just over 360MB for the Ultra model.
The official changelog states that the update fixes a system issue that caused the problems when the device is connected to a 6GHz Wi-Fi network. It also patches other bugs and improves system stability. While the changelog mentioned no new features or other changes, some users noticed improvements in system animations. Moving from one page to another now feels smoother.
This update seemingly brings the Google Assistant At a Glance widget as well. Additionally, Galaxy S23 phones running on One UI 6.0 beta are getting “mini menus” in the Quick Panel. Long-pressing some buttons on the Quick Panel brings up a new menu for instant action. For example, the auto-rotate button lets you quickly configure the settings for the home screen, lock screen, call screen, and more. Likewise, the torch button lets you adjust the brightness. You can see this in action below.

Samsung is rapidly expanding its One UI 6.0 beta program for Galaxy devices
Samsung opened One UI 6.0 public beta for the Galaxy S23 series on August 11. It has since pushed three major beta updates and a few hotfix updates to the devices. The company has also launched beta programs for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy A54, and Galaxy A34. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are also confirmed to get beta updates later this month.
All of this suggests that Samsung will roll out the stable One UI 6.0 update for the Galaxy S23 series before the end of October, with others to follow shortly afterward. It remains to be seen whether Google’s delayed Android 14 release affects Samsung’s rollout (One UI 6.0 is based on Android 14). We will let you know when we have more information. In the meantime, interested Galaxy users can check for the beta program through the Samsung members app.
