The Xiaomi 14 series launched in China last week. The company announced two smartphones, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. Pre-orders kicked off right after the event, and according to the company’s exec, the Xiaomi 14 series sales are “breaking all kinds of records”.

The Xiaomi 14 series is breaking sales records in its homeland

This information comes from Alvin Tse, the Vice President of Xiaomi Global. He shared the information via Twitter. He also added that this “shows that innovative & pioneering tech products have great demand amidst macro headwinds”.

What he did not share are the actual sales numbers. Xiaomi could share that at some point, perhaps once the pre-order period is over. Based on Alvin Tse’s words, however, the Xiaomi 14 series seems to be beating all of its predecessors.

As a reminder, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are the first smartphones to be announced with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. They’ll also be the first to be available to purchase, it seems, as the pre-order period will be over soon.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC fuels both of these smartphones

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is an immensely powerful SoC from Qualcomm. It launched only a couple of days before the Xiaomi 14 series announcement. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is probably coming too, but at a later date.

The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro have a lot to offer. They’re different in terms of size, but very similar design-wise. They both have immensely powerful cameras on the back, with Leica’s Summilux lens.

Both smartphones have immensely bright displays too, they go up to 3,000 nits. Those are LTPO OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate. The one on the Xiaomi 14 Pro is a bit sharper, though.

Both smartphones support 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The Xiaomi 14 comes with 90W wired charging support, while its sibling offers 120W wired charging. The charger is included in the box with both devices.

Both of these phones will launch globally, the company’s CEO confirmed.
