If you’re serious about mobile gaming, then you should know about Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass. These are subscription-based services that offer the user access to great games, no in-app purchases, and exclusive titles. They both used to have a $4.99/month price tag, but Apple Arcade just had its first price hike in the States.

Now, Apple Arcade costs $6.99/month in the US market, according to a new report. A $2 increase doesn’t seem like much in the grand scheme of things. However, these small dollar amounts count a ton when you’re talking about a $5 subscription service.

Apple has been testing this new price in other countries earlier in the month of October, and it just finally made its way stateside. If you already have a subscription, we don’t know if you’ll see a higher bill each month. Apple may give you a grace period.

Apple Arcade had a price hike, but it’s still worth it

If you’re on the fence about whether you want to get Apple Arcade, there are some ways for you to try it out. You can get three months of Arcade for free with the purchase of a new iPhone. So, if you’re planning on getting a new phone, that’s a perk.

You can also get a one-month free trial. Lastly, you’ll get one month free when you sign up for Apple One.

On Apple Arcade, you’ll have access to more than 200 premium games, and this includes exclusive titles like the upcoming Sonic Dream Team. Just browse through the library of games, and you’ll see a selection of titles that you can download and play right then and there.

Some select titles include Sneaky Sasquatch, Cooking Mama: Cuisine!, Jetpack Joyride 2, What the Car?, and many more. These are all great games that will make getting the service worth it.
