Sundar Pichai reacted to Gemini’s inaccurate images, says it’s ‘completely unacceptable’

Over the past week, Google has been getting some backlash over its AI tool Gemini. It has the ability to generate images of people, but it has been generating racially inaccurate depictions of historical figures. Now, Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, has finally spoken out about Gemini’s inaccurate images.

There was another example where a person asked it to generate an image of the founding fathers, and it showed images of people of Asian descent. There are many more examples of this, and it led some people to call the tool “woke”. He said, “I know that some of its responses have offended our users and shown bias – to be clear, that’s completely unacceptable and we got it wrong,”. Along with that statement, he also gave some good news for people wanting the functionality to return. “Our teams have been working around the clock to address these issues. We’re already seeing a substantial improvement on a wide range of prompts.”
