YouTube Music is a platform that works great on smartphones and tablets. However, those aren’t the only devices that people use to listen to music. This is why YouTube Music is planning on opening up to more third-party platforms (via 9To5Google).

If you use YouTube Music on the web, then there’s some good news coming for you. YouTube Music is currently in the process of revamping the homepage of its website. This will make it look more like the regular YouTube page with a side panel. We’re not sure when this revamp is going to come, but it will make the interface look nicer.

YouTube Music is going to add more third-party support

Starting off, it seems that YouTube Music will have an app for Garmin smartwatches. The app could be available on the Connect IQ store which has other popular streaming services. These streaming services include Amazon Music, Spotify, and Deezer.

Moving onto other platforms, it appears that YouTube Music will finally be making its way to Apple TV. This will make the service much more accessible. This won’t be the only Apple product getting YouTube Music, as the company is working on bringing a third-party app for the HomePod. Apple announced several third-party companies launching their apps on the HomePod, and YouTube Music was one of them.

This is a smart move on YouTube’s part. Making it more accessible on different platforms means that more people will be able to listen to the service. There are some people for whom platform accessibility is a make-or-break factor when choosing a subscription service.

Right now, we are unsure when YouTube Music will be available on all of these platforms. As with anything, the actual implementation will come just a bit after the announcement. The HomePod and Apple TV integration were announced during Apple’s WWDC event. That was held not too long ago, so hopefully the wait won’t be too long.
