Another day, another Samsung device received Android 14. Three of them, to be precise. The Galaxy Tab S9 FE, Galaxy Tab S9 FE+, and Galaxy M33 are all picking up the big update today, with One UI 6.0 on top. The company has already updated about 30 other Galaxy devices to Android 14.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE receives Android 14 less than two months after launch

Samsung released the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series on October 16. The two premium Fan Edition (FE) tablets came with Android 13 onboard. Less than two months after they first hit the market, the devices are jumping to Android 14. The Korean firm is rolling out the big update in Europe with the firmware build number X516BXXU1BWK9 for the base model and X616BXXU1BWK9 for the Plus.

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ are receiving the November 2023 Android security patch with this update. Last month’s security release contains more than 60 vulnerability patches, five of which are confirmed to be critical issues. However, these security fixes are of little interest in the grand scheme of things. After all, Android 14-based One UI 6.0 is a massive update with tons of goodies.

Samsung has made some UI adjustments to make the Quick Settings buttons more accessible. It has also updated the notification panel and improved system animations for a smoother user experience. Additionally, One UI 6.0 improves multi-tasking features, Samsung DeX, Samsung Keyboard, homescreen widgets, Calendar, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health, and Bixby Text Call. There are new camera features and editing tools too.

This is the first of four major Android OS updates Samsung promised for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE+. They will receive updates up to Android 17. If you have purchased the FE tablet, you can rest assured that it will get official software support for a long time. You can check for new updates through the Settings app on your Samsung device. Go to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install.

Android 14 is available for more M-series phones

Samsung’s M-series mid-range phones aren’t available as widely as the A-series. They are primarily sold in price-sensitive markets such as India. These phones get decent support from the company. It has already updated the Galaxy M53 to Android 14. The Galaxy M33 is now following suit. The update is currently available in Russia and Ukraine with the build number M336BXXU5DWK6. A wider rollout should follow soon.
