Apple subsidiary Beats is here with its latest pair of TWS earbuds. The Studio Buds + are the successor to the Studio Buds launched in June 2021. The company hasn’t changed things much in terms of design but the new pair is touted to offer improved Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), longer battery life, better audio quality, and more subtle improvements. The new buds also come in a transparent version, a trend started by Nothing a couple of years back.
Beats launches Studio Buds + with improved ANC and battery life
The Beats Studio Buds + feature a custom acoustic platform that offers powerful yet balanced sound in a compact size. The company has added acoustic vents on the buds that allow for comfortable wearing for a prolonged period while improving the audio experience. Each bud has a proprietary two-layer transducer that flexes to deliver an immersive sound. You can activate ANC with the touch of a button, letting you dive into your music isolated from the world. Likewise, you can quickly switch to the Transparency mode whenever you need to interact with your surrounding.
“With 3x larger microphones, new venting, and a powerful processor, Studio Buds + deliver up to 1.6x more powerful ANC and up to 2x better Transparency than its predecessor,” Beats said in its press release announcing the new audio products. The company has also equipped the buds with an intelligent voice-targeting algorithm and an “entirely new acoustic architecture” that helps improve the audio quality during calls. The buds actively filter out background noise to ensure that the other person hears you clearly without any disturbances.
All of this without compromising on the battery life. The Beats Studio Buds + are rated to run up to nine hours on a single charge with ANC and Transparency modes turned off. The charging case stores enough energy to fuel three additional cycles of charge for a total of 36 hours of playback time. Thanks to fast charging support, you’ll get an hour of playback time by putting the buds in the case for just five minutes. Of course, the battery life depends on your usage, but the latest Beats TWS earbuds are pretty strong in this department.
Beats has further enhanced Android compatibility
The Beats Studio Buds were the company’s first TWS earbuds to support Android’s Fast Pair. The Apple-owned brand has since enhanced Android compatibility by adding new features like “Locate My Beats” to its app. The latest pair continues the efforts of deeper ecosystem integration, allowing you to seamlessly switch the connection between your Android, Chrome OS, and other compatible devices.
Other highlights of the Beats Studio Buds + include an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance, Spatial audio for Dolby Atmos surround sound, industry-leading Class 1 Bluetooth, and four eartip options (XS, S, M, and L). The new buds are now available to purchase from Apple’s online store and partner retail channels in the US for $169.99. Beats has also launched the new buds in Canada and China, with other markets to follow soon. The aforementioned transparent version is accompanied by Black and Ivory color options.
