Samsung has a bunch of new Android tablets in the works. It’s readying two Fan Edition (FE) models as premium offerings and two A-series mid-range tablets. Both the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series and the Galaxy Tab A9 series are expected to arrive later this year. The devices have already picked up several regulatory approvals, while leaks have revealed most of their key specs and design. The base models of the two lineups have now popped up on the Google Play Console to confirm some of the rumored specs.

Galaxy Tab S9 FE specs confirmed

The Google listing shows the Wi-Fi version of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE with 6GB of RAM. It’s the base variant as we are also expecting the tablet to come in 8GB and 12GB RAM options, though the latter may see a limited release in select markets. As previously rumored, the tablet is powered by the Samsung “s5e8835” processor operating at a maximum frequency of 2.4GHz. It’s none other than the Exynos 1380, the mid-range chipset found inside the Galaxy A54.

The new tablet uses ARM’s Mali G68 GPU with a clock speed of 950MHz. The 10.9-inch display has a resolution of 1440×2304 pixels and a pixel density of 280 DPI (via MySmartPrice). Though not seen on the Google Play Console yet, leaks have revealed that the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ gets a 12.4-inch display. It features the same chipset paired with 8GB and 12GB of RAM options. Both tablets are expected to be available with up to 256GB of onboard storage.

Other rumored specs of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series include S Pen support (S Pen included in the box), 8,400mAh and 10,090mAh batteries (Plus model has the bigger battery), 25W fast charging, optional 5G connectivity, an IP rating for dust and water resistance, and Samsung’s Android 13-based One UI 5.1 custom software. The smaller tablet will feature a single rear camera, while the bigger model gets two of them at the back. Both devices offer a selfie camera as well.

Galaxy Tab A9 is nearing its launch too

The Galaxy Tab A9 is a more affordable tablet from Samsung. It features 4GB of RAM on the base variant, while the chipset is clocked at 2.2GHz. The Korean firm has also downgraded the GPU to the Mali G57. This tablet’s screen resolution is also a basic 800×1340 pixels. The Galaxy Tab A9+ is essentially a bigger version of it, with a larger screen and battery. Samsung might take wraps off the new FE and A-series tablets in October. The Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Buds FE, and Galaxy SmartTag 2 could also arrive next month.
