Today, pre-orders started for the entire iPhone 15 lineup. And if you missed out on the 8AM ET pre-order start time, well you’re going to be waiting some time for your new iPhone. As shipping times for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have already slipped to mid-October.
Looking at Apple’s website, it appears that the iPhone 15 Pro is now slated for October 4-9. While the iPhone 15 Pro Max is now slated for October 9-16. This likely means that there is either more demand for the Pro Max model, or Apple didn’t make as many as the regular Pro. Or, the more likely scenario, both.
Apple Stores will have some units on hand, during launch day
Next Friday is launch day for the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max (and the regular and Plus models). And Apple will typically have a number of units available in-store for people to buy. Typically, they have each storage and color variant too. So if you did not get the model you wanted today, you can wait til Friday and head to your local Apple Store and hope for some good luck.
Remember, that you’ll need to get their early to do this. And Apple Stores typically open earlier on iPhone launch day, as it is their busiest day of the year. Most stores will open around 8:30AM on Friday, September 22.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max has the biggest changes of all four models this year, so it makes sense that it is seeing more demand than the others. Not to mention the battery issues we’ve all see on the 14 series this past year. A lot of people – myself included – are opting for the bigger model, to get the best battery life possible. Hopefully you got your pre-order in before the shipping dates slipped to next month. The carriers might still have some available for launch day.
