The Apple iPhone 16 series is not coming anytime soon. The devices are expected to launch in September next year. Some info did surface, and Phone Arena decided to create renders based on that information. The renders you’ll see below the article show the possible design of the iPhone 16 Pro series. In other words, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The possible iPhone 16 Pro design depicted in renders

You will see three images included in the gallery. Many of you will not notice a single difference between these phones, and the iPhone 15 Pro series. There are two, though, design-wise. There is a different ‘Action Button’ included in the renders provided by the source, and also a ‘Capture Button’.

Let’s talk about the ‘Action Button’ first, though, shall we? That button will be of a solid-state variety on the iPhone 16 Pro series. That was supposed to be the case on the iPhone 15 Pro series too, but Apple flipped the script at the last moment.

The iPhone 16 Pro models could include at least two solid-state buttons

That button is codenamed ‘Atlas’, and it will not require a physical press. It will be very similar to the Touch ID home button on iPhones. It will respond to pressure, but you won’t be able to physically press it. When it registers pressure, it’ll give you a tactile response, and do an action.

Speaking of which, an ‘Action Button’ is also expected to make its way to vanilla iPhone 16 devices. We’re just not sure if Apple will use a physical one for those, or the same solid-state one as on the ‘Pro’ models.

The ‘Capture Button’ will allow you to quickly launch the camera, allegedly

Now, regarding the ‘Capture Button’. That is a new button rumored to be included on the iPhone 16 Pro series devices. It’ll allegedly be placed below the power/lock button, and its functionality is still not known. Reports are guessing it will allow you to fire up the camera, either photo or video mode. That button will also be of the solid-state variety, allegedly.

In fact, all physical buttons on the iPhone 16 Pro models could be replaced with solid-state ones. Phone Arena used physical power/lock and volume rocker buttons. That would still make sense, as they would be different than the solid-state ones, and thus easier to feel on the phone. Apple’s ultimate goal seems to be to ditch physical buttons altogether, though.

The iPhone 16 Pro series is expected to look very similar to the iPhone 15 Pro models

The overall design of the device is very similar to the iPhone 15 Pro series. The iPhone 16 series launch is still a long way off, so we’re not sure what the final design will be. It could be similar to what the source shared, though, of course.
