Samsung has released the third One UI 6.0 beta update for the Galaxy S23 series. The latest build is now live in the US with firmware version ZWI8. The same build is also rolling out in India, where it arrives as Beta 2. The update should soon reach other markets where the beta program is available, such as Germany, South Korea, and the UK.

Screenshots posted on X show the OTA (over the air) package for One UI 6.0 Beta 3 weighs between 1.2GB and 1.4GB depending on the market and device model. The changelog is the same in India and the US. Samsung has improved the system video player with an enhanced layout that offers better controls. It has moved the Play button to the center and grouped other similar buttons. Playback speed controls now use buttons instead of a slider.

Additionally, the company has fixed a bunch of issues and bugs present in the previous beta build. The changelog says the system launcher, i.e. One UI Home, crashing issue has been fixed. Samsung has also addressed problems causing UI lag/freeze when long-pressing on the home screen to customize it or going back to the home screen directly from an app. It has patched an occasional call-related issue with Bixby as well.

One UI 6.0 Beta 3 further patches a camera bug that caused the camera app to crash when switching to video mode. Issues with Samsung Pay gestures have been addressed too. Samsung has also added a manual setting for scheduling Device Care restarts. It has improved the shape of notification icons in text messages and fixed the issues with the “when you receive a message” routine condition. This update also fixes the notification bar color errors when running apps in Samsung DeX.

The latest One UI 6.0 beta still has some known issues

Samsung engineers are still working on polishing One UI 6.0, which is the company’s Android 14-based custom software. The latest beta update comes with a few known issues. The changelog notes that the Kids app isn’t compatible with the new One UI version. A compatible version of the app is expected later this month.

One UI 6.0 Beta 3 also has problems recognizing the “answer the phone” voice command while receiving a phone call. It has issues with Google Assistant as well. Samsung will fix some of these known issues with a new One UI 6.0 beta update in the coming weeks. If you have enrolled your Galaxy S23 into Samsung’s beta program, you can expect to receive the latest update soon.
