Netizens are now turning their attention to the coming Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. According to the available reports and speculations, this midrange flagship processor will hit the launch stage next year. To be a bit more precise, some tipsters point to Q1 2024 as the launch period of this coming processor.
Additionally, the first device to launch featuring this processor might be from one of Xiaomi’s subsidiary brands. The brand in question is Redmi, and they were also among some of the first devices to launch using the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. However, with the launches of the Snapdragon 7 series this year, there weren’t a lot of manufacturers out there to use that chip.
However, the available reports on this coming chip claim that more manufacturers are showing interest in the coming chip. For this reason, netizens might see more devices launched using this processor. Some factors might have been a deterrent for manufacturers adopting the Snapdragon 7 series chip, but Qualcomm might fix these problems.
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is tipped to launch in Q1 next year
Following reports of this coming chip launch came details on the chip itself. These details were shared by a Weibo user and popular tipster Digital Chat Station and made public by Tech_Reve on X. In a recent post, these users shared the comparison between the details of a coming chip and an already existing chip.
Following the launch of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. This upgrade brought improvements to the Snapdragon 7 series chips that hit the launch stage this year. However, the coming 7 Gen 3 chip is set to outperform the available Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip that is already available for usage.
The coming Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will also correct some flaws that are notable in the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. Some of these flaws include the pricing and making the coming chip more affordable for usage on devices. Just like the available Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, this coming chip will use TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process.
This is the expected setup
Details on the coming chip are 1×2.63GHz A715, 3×2.4GHz, 4×1.8GHz, and Adreno 720 GPU. It’ll also use the A715 for its larger cores, as Digital Chat Station points out. Unlike the 7+ Gen 2, the coming 7 Gen 3 might be more affordable for usage on coming devices.
This might attract more smartphone manufacturers to use this chip on their devices. Qualcomm could also release the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip next year to upgrade performance and other factors. More information on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and its possible successor will be available in the coming weeks.
