Previously, there were two flavors to X (formerly Twitter), and they’re “Free Berry” and “Premium Punch.” So far, there have only been those two tiers to the platform, but the company just unveiled two new X Premium tiers.
We’re all familiar with the perks that you get with the standard X Premium tier. It costs $8/month, and it gives you reduced ads, longer posts, an algorithmic boost to replies, and more. It’s where Elon Musk has been funneling all of the useful changes and new features, leaving all of the free users in the dust.
Now, X has two more premium tiers
In order to give people more variety in their plans, X came out with two additional payment tiers. They flank the basic X premium plan in terms of price. So, one is more expensive, and one’s cheaper.
Starting off with the cheaper plan, this one is called the basic plan, and it costs you $3/month. As you can expect, this is the most diet flavor of the plans. It gives you most of the perks of the standard $8/month tier.
Only, you won’t have the all-important verification badge, you won’t have reduced ads, you won’t have access to the Media Studio, and your posts/replies will only get a slight algorithmic boost.
That last part is a bit of a bummer, as the standard plan didn’t even give you that much of a boost. So, a further reduced boost probably won’t be felt at all.
Moving onto the most feature-packed tier, the most expensive plan is called X Premium+. This one doubles the standard plan at $16/month.
With X Premium+, you get some notable perks above the other plans. With it, you get no ads at all, the biggest boost for posts/replies, and access to the full suite of creator tools. And… that’s about it. Is that worth double the price of regular X Premium? That’s for you to decide.
These payment tiers are available today to sign up for, and they’re only available on the web version of X. We’re not sure you’ll want to sign up through the app, as that will make them cost more.
