It is now official, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will launch next month, and it will come with Leica support. The Leica part is not surprising, as Leica lenses were used on the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 as well.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is coming next month with Leica lenses & support
Xiaomi confirmed this via its social media channels in China, primarily Weibo. The company also shared a teaser image alongside that, which you can check below.
This image does not reveal much, even though it does show us a part of the phone’s design. You can see the phone in the middle of folding/unfolding, and the outer part of its hinge.
The device will, once again, be very thin, it seems. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is still one of the thinnest foldables out there, that goes for both its folded and unfolded states. It’s no longer the thinnest one, but it’s not far from it.
Will the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 be thinner & lighter than the HONOR Magic V2? Well… we’ll see
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 could take things to a whole new level. The HONOR Magic V2 is the new king of thin foldable phones, as it managed to trump both the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 and Huawei Mate X3. It’s also noticeably lighter than the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2.
It will be interesting to see how will Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable compete. One thing is for sure, it will be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, and also offer upgraded specs.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 did not launch globally, and it remains to be seen what will happen with its successor. It’s about time Xiaomi offers one of its foldables to global consumers. We do need more foldable competition outside of China.
The phone will almost certainly ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It will also likely incorporate LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, along with two 120Hz AMOLED displays.
