Do you ever feel like dropping a comment under a song you’ve streamed on YouTube Music? This might sound weird to some people, but YouTube believes that there are those out there who wish to do this. For this reason, the app might be getting a comment button to the Now Playing interface.

Funny enough, some users are already getting this comment button on their mobile app. This is part of a new redesign that the app is adopting in a bid to make its usage more fun for streamers. With this redesign comes a ton of changes, but of concern here is the new comment feature that users are getting.

Not every YouTube Music user will give the same reaction to hearing that their streaming app is getting a comment button. Some might be eager to use this comment button, while others might be a bit reluctant to do so. Whichever side of the fence you’re on, it is important to prepare for the arrival of this feature.

The YouTube Music comment feature is great but might not be for everybody

The redesign brings this comment feature to certain users’ upgrades on the Now Playing page. This interface shows the album cover, the song’s lyrics, and media controls. With this redesign, users will find controls (like the download, save, share, and radio buttons) a bit more accessible.

These buttons are now coming to the area just below the artist’s name and song title on the Now Playing page. Also, the like and dislike button will join the other buttons in this area, hence moving away from their current location. Joining these control buttons for some users is the comment button, allowing them to share their thoughts on the music they listen to.

This is quite similar to what you can find on the YouTube app, where users can drop comments on videos they watch. YouTube Music is also aiming to adopt this feature and allow users to share their ideas under the comment section of various songs. Some users might like this coming feature, but certain artists might not find it funny at all.

Having this feature on songs an artist uploads to YouTube Music might open them to all sorts of comments. Other streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music don’t even have comment sections for songs. To protect artists from certain unruly users, YouTube might give them the option to allow comments or block them from their songs.

However, this feature is only available to certain YouTube Music users at this time. Once the Now Playing page redesign rolls out, you might get to see a comment button on your app. Would you make use of this comment section, or would you simply stick to streaming songs without leaving your opinion on any?
