The images were shared by a leaker on Twitter (via MacRumors). The leaked images show shaped ribbon connectors that contour around a user’s eyes. These connectors are likely used to connect display components to a board, suggesting that the headset will feature some form of high-quality display.

In addition to the ribbon connectors, another image shows an array of three sensors or cameras along a flexible ribbon of similar length. While the purpose of these sensors is unclear, it’s possible that they will be used to track the wearer’s movements and position in the virtual environment.

Of course, it’s important to note that these leaked images are not officially confirmed by Apple, and the company has not commented on them. However, given the source’s track record of accuracy, it seems likely that these components are indeed designed for Apple’s upcoming mixed-reality headset.

The first-generation headset is expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June, with a launch sometime later in the year. You can also re-subscribe in the future, but you would end up having to pay whatever the current prices are. If they change in between the time you cancel and want to re-subscribe.

Researchers from the Korea University School of Cyber Security, Seoul, have recently presented a new covert channel attack known as CASPER, which has been developed as part of a research project that is currently in progress.

In addition to this, it has also been reported that the attack may be able to leak data at a rate of 20 bits per second from air-gapped computers to nearby smartphones.

Defining a covert channel in terms of computer security means that it is a channel through which information is transferred through previously unknown channels.

However, this scenario may sound unfeasible, or even far-fetched, but there have been many instances when such attacks have been successful in the past.

A common 8-character password could be transmitted in about three seconds by a malware program using this data transfer rate, as well as an RSA key with a length of 2048 bits in about 100 seconds by the malware program.

The AirPods have come a long way since Apple first announced the wireless earbuds in September 2016.

A recent report suggests that Apple will double down on the AirPod’s hearing health features. 

In his latest “Power On” newsletter edition, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said he believes Apple will upgrade the AirPods to become a health tool within a year or two. Gurman further notes that the earbuds could even start to collect hearing data.

A previous report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo noted Apple’s plans to add biometric health-monitoring features to future AirPod models. 

Indeed, patent filings describe an earbud-based fitness monitoring system with an advanced biometric sensor that relies on a built-in motion sensor and skin contact. That way, users can measure physiological metrics such as heart rate, temperature, and perspiration levels using the AirPods. 

Kuo’s report aligns with Apple’s vice president of technology Kevin Lynch’s hint that the audio device could provide additional health data in the future. 

Since current AirPods have microphones and speakers, Apple may not release new AirPod models for the forthcoming hearing health capabilities. Instead, the Cupertino-based tech giant could simply push the features via a firmware update to existing devices.

GymDrop began distributing Xenomorph to its customers in February of 2022, and the first variants were distributed to them in the month of March. Later in the year, Hadoken decided to switch distribution mediums, trying the first BugDrop before settling on Zombinder.

New Targets of Xenomorph

In the past few years, Xenomorph has been using overlay attacks as a means of collecting PII, such as passwords and usernames, since its first appearance.

A MaaS campaign with Android Banking malware may have different targets, depending on the threat actor(s) managing it and the malware variant.

The Xenomorphs, which maintained a relatively stable configuration throughout the year 2022, specifically targeted Spain, Portugal, and Italy during their attack in 2022.

It is also worth mentioning that several cryptocurrency wallets have also been introduced with the most recent campaigns, along with Belgian and Canadian institutions as well.

Capabilities

A few of the new features that have been added to this attack make it different from the previous one in several ways. After the recent attack, the experts have concluded that the previous attack didn’t have a lot of features as compared to the recent attack, so the previous attack was lacking a lot of new features.

In order to exploit the move by banks to implement authenticator apps instead of SMS for two-factor authentication (2FA), the Xenomorph trojan incorporates an ATS module that allows it to launch the app and extract the authenticator codes from the app.

Cookie stealer capabilities have also been added to Xenomorph’s arsenal of weapons, which already boasts a wide range of capabilities.
