[ad_1]

The stable OxygenOS 14 update has started rolling out to the OnePlus 11. Do note that this update is based on Android 14. The OnePlus 11 is still the company’s flagship smartphone, at least as far as non-folding phones are concerned.

The OnePlus 11 is now receiving a stable OxygenOS 14 update

One important note to make is that the rollout is starting in India. Other markets will follow very soon, so you can expect the update to hit your phone shortly. The phone will let you know once the update is available, but you can also manually check, of course.

Do note that you’ll need at least 30% battery charge in order to update to OxygenOS 14, and also a minimum of 5GB of free storage space on your phone.

This update is bringing a number of underlying Android 14 changes, but also quite a few changes that OnePlus made to OxygenOS 14. So, let’s go over those, as the changelog has been made available.

Quite a few changes are listed in the changelog

This update adds ‘Fluid Cloud’. That is a way of interaction with morphing forms that allows the user to view up-to-date info at a glance. Cross-device support has also been added for Fluid Cloud.

File Dock has been added here, which allows you to drag and drop to transfer content between apps and devices. The Content Extraction feature is also included. That feature basically recognizes and extracts text and images from the screen with a single tap.

OxygenOS 14 also brings Smart Cutout. That feature can basically separate multiple subjects in a photo from the background, and then you can edit it or share it.

More widget recommendations have been added to ‘Shelf’, while photo and video-related permission management has been improved too. System stability improvements are included in this update, and that includes the speed of launching apps, and overall smoothness.

The Aquamorphic Design has been upgraded too

The company’s Aquamorphic Design has been upgraded with a “natural, gentle, and clearer color style”. Aquamorphic-themed ringtones have been added too, while the system notification sounds have been revamped too. Do note that this update is very similar to ColorOS 14 update.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor could launch in Q1 2024

0
[ad_1]

Netizens are now turning their attention to the coming Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. According to the available reports and speculations, this midrange flagship processor will hit the launch stage next year. To be a bit more precise, some tipsters point to Q1 2024 as the launch period of this coming processor.

Additionally, the first device to launch featuring this processor might be from one of Xiaomi’s subsidiary brands. The brand in question is Redmi, and they were also among some of the first devices to launch using the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. However, with the launches of the Snapdragon 7 series this year, there weren’t a lot of manufacturers out there to use that chip.

However, the available reports on this coming chip claim that more manufacturers are showing interest in the coming chip. For this reason, netizens might see more devices launched using this processor. Some factors might have been a deterrent for manufacturers adopting the Snapdragon 7 series chip, but Qualcomm might fix these problems.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is tipped to launch in Q1 next year

Following reports of this coming chip launch came details on the chip itself. These details were shared by a Weibo user and popular tipster Digital Chat Station and made public by Tech_Reve on X. In a recent post, these users shared the comparison between the details of a coming chip and an already existing chip.

Following the launch of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip. This upgrade brought improvements to the Snapdragon 7 series chips that hit the launch stage this year. However, the coming 7 Gen 3 chip is set to outperform the available Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chip that is already available for usage.

The coming Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will also correct some flaws that are notable in the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. Some of these flaws include the pricing and making the coming chip more affordable for usage on devices. Just like the available Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, this coming chip will use TSMC’s 4nm fabrication process.

This is the expected setup

Details on the coming chip are 1×2.63GHz A715, 3×2.4GHz, 4×1.8GHz, and Adreno 720 GPU. It’ll also use the A715 for its larger cores, as Digital Chat Station points out. Unlike the 7+ Gen 2, the coming 7 Gen 3 might be more affordable for usage on coming devices.

This might attract more smartphone manufacturers to use this chip on their devices. Qualcomm could also release the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip next year to upgrade performance and other factors. More information on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and its possible successor will be available in the coming weeks.

Galaxy A25 5G gets official support page, launch imminent

0
[ad_1]

Samsung may soon unveil the Galaxy A25 5G. A few days back, we exclusively revealed the phone’s official renders and key specs while the company worked on regulatory approvals. The firm has now listed the unannounced handset on its website, hinting at an imminent launch.

Samsung’s Galaxy A25 5G nears its launch

The Galaxy A25 5G has been in the news regularly over the past week or so. Alongside our exclusive leaks, the device picked up certifications from the FCC, TUV Rheinland, BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), and Bluetooth SIG during this time. All of this suggested a nearing launch. While we still don’t have a launch date, Samsung’s latest move may be a big hint that the wait won’t be much longer now.

The Korean behemoth has put up an official support page for the phone on its website in India. The Indian version of the Galaxy A25 5G will bear the model number SM-A256E. Other model variants include SM-A256B, SM-A256N, SM-A2560, and SM-A256U, with the latter being the US version. As usual, the newly published support page doesn’t reveal anything notable. All we get is a confirmation for dual-SIM support in the country.

Nonetheless, it’s an indication that Samsung is preparing for the phone’s market release. Unlike some other mid-range Galaxy handsets, the Galaxy A25 5G will seemingly be available globally. The company may not open sales everywhere on the same day but it should eventually reach all markets where the Korean firm has operations. We should have soon more information.

The new model will bring a few upgrades

The Galaxy A25 5G will succeed Samsung’s Galaxy A24, a 2023 mid-range smartphone that lacked 5G support. Since we already have the new model’s key specs, we know that it will bring a few upgrades to the table. Apart from 5G connectivity, it will give you a 32MP selfie camera and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. The current model has a 13MP selfie camera and lacks an IP rating.

Other known specs include a 6.44-inch display, Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1280 processor with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage (plus microSD card support), 5,000mAh battery, 25W fast charging, 50MP main camera, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and USB Type-C 2.0. The phone will run Android 14-based One UI 6.0 out of the box and get updates up to Android 18. The Galaxy A25 5G is expected to cost around $300 at launch.

The Motorola Edge+ 2023 is finally here, and it’s a pretty good phone. It was announced on May 2, 2023, and could be an early contender for the best phone of 2023.

Now, this is the “Plus” model, which means we’ll likely see a cheaper non-plus model in a couple of months. Which is pretty typical for Motorola. But so far, the Motorola Edge+ is the only Edge model in 2023. And in this article, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know about it.

Motorola Edge+ specs

Here are the specs for the Motorola Edge+ (2023).

Motorola Edge+
Display 6.7-inch FHD+ 165Hz pOLED
20:9 aspect ratio
Gorilla Glass Victus
Processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform
RAM 8GB LPDDR5X
Storage 256GB/512GB UFS 4.0
Battery Capacity 5,100mAh
Charging Speeds 68W wired (charger included in box)
15W wireless charging
5W wireless power sharing
Software Android 13
(3 years of OS upgrades, 4 years of security upgrades)
Rear Cameras 50MP wide
12MP telephoto
50MP ultrawide/macro
Front Camera 60MP
Dimensions 161.16 x 74 x 8.59mm
Weight 203g
Price $799
Colors Interstellar Black
Available May 9

How much does the Motorola Edge+ cost?

The Motorola Edge+ will start at $799, which will be for the 256GB model. The 512GB model will likely be around $849-$899.

This is a pretty competitive price for Motorola, especially considering the specs here. It has higher specs in some areas than the Galaxy S23, and still is cheaper. So it’s a good value option here, solely looking at the specs.

When will the Motorola Edge+ be available?

The Motorola Edge+ will be available starting on May 9, exclusively at Boost Infinite and Boost Mobile. It’ll be available from Spectrum Mobile and Consumer Cellular following that. The unlocked model will be available from Amazon, Best Buy and Motorola.com starting on May 25 with pre-orders starting on May 19.

So far there’s no word on it being available at any of the main carriers – T-Mobile, Verizon nor AT&T. But that might change.

Over in Canada, the Motorola Edge+ will be available for pre-order on May 19 and go on sale on May 25. And it will have a price of $1,299.

Where can I buy it?

This is subject to change, but for now, you will be able to buy the Motorola Edge+ at these retailers and carriers:

  • Boost Infinite
  • Boost Mobile
  • Spectrum Mobile
  • Consumer Cellular
  • Amazon
  • Best Buy
  • Motorola.com

What carriers will support the Motorola Edge+?

The unlocked model of the Motorola Edge+ should work on all three US carriers – AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. However, that will depend on whether Motorola has gotten it certified with those networks. However, since it is going to be available from Boost Infinite, Boost Mobile, Spectrum Mobile and Consumer Cellular, it should work on the main carriers.

What colors does it come in?

Surprisingly, the Motorola Edge+ is only coming in one color this year, which is Interstellar Black.

This is a black color that does show some deep colors with different lighting. For instance, in the right color, you could see some deep purple, or dark blue on this one. But it is indeed black.

What new features are coming with the Motorola Edge+?

There’s not a lot of new features on the Motorola Edge+. While other OEMs will focus on adding the kitchen sink into their software, Motorola likes to keep it pretty bare. Which allows their phones to run really well, because there’s very little bloatware on-board. It also means that you’ll get to use more of that 256GB of storage.

68W wired charging

While it’s not the fastest, 68W wired charging is still really nice to see here. On top of that, you get that 68W wired charger in the box. Where a lot of its competitors are not adding the charger in the box anymore. That’s really nice of Motorola.

Motorola says that in just 9 minutes, you can get enough power for “the day”. Now we have no idea how much power that is, but it’s likely gonna get you from 0% up to 50%. Motorola does claim that the 5100mAh capacity battery will get you multiple days, so that does sound about right.

Now, there is also wireless charging available here. The Edge+ allows for up to 15W wireless charging, and also for 5W reverse wireless charging. Which can really be useful for charging a smartwatch or a pair of earbuds.

Dolby Vision Display

On the Motorola Edge+, the display is the star of the show. And it should be. It’s the first thing you see when you look at your phone. This display is a 165Hz pOLED display, that is also curved on all four sides. So it looks like things just melt off of the display. Motorola also got it certified for HDR. So with this one, you’re looking at HDR10+, Dolby Vision as well as certification for Amazon HDR. So you can watch Prime Video in HDR on this display.

It’s a stunning display, and definitely the selling point of this phone.

Should I buy the Motorola Edge+?

The Motorola Edge+ is pretty impressive on paper, however we have not yet gotten our hands on it, so it’s hard to say if you should buy it. But looking at the spec sheet here, it’s a really good option for this price. The quad curved 165Hz display is going to look amazing and feel great in the hand too. Motorola is also starting out with 256GB of storage here, while most of its competitors are still starting at 128GB. So definitely a good look there.

A guide to Bitcoin and Tron investments

0
[ad_1]

The cryptocurrency market has witnessed an unprecedented boom in the last decade, introducing a slew of digital currencies that have changed the landscape of investments. Among the plethora of options, Bitcoin and Tron have emerged as prominent players, captivating investors’ attention worldwide. This guide aims to delve deep into these two cryptocurrencies, providing potential investors with a clear understanding of their workings, investment strategies, and what makes them unique in the crowded crypto space. If you’re new to investing in bitcoin, Enigma Profit can be a dependable platform for trading cryptocurrencies.

Understanding Bitcoin

Bitcoin, introduced in 2009 by an anonymous entity known as Satoshi Nakamoto, stands as the pioneering cryptocurrency. It operates on a decentralized network, with transactions verified through a process called mining. This involves powerful computers solving complex mathematical problems, ensuring the security and integrity of transactions on the blockchain, a public ledger that records all Bitcoin transactions.

Bitcoin’s impact on the financial world is substantial. It challenged traditional banking systems and introduced a new era of decentralized finance. Its adoption by businesses and individuals continues to grow, as it offers advantages like lower transaction fees, faster transfer times, and access to financial services without the need for a central intermediary.

Exploring Tron

Tron, on the other hand, was founded in 2017 by Justin Sun. It distinguishes itself from Bitcoin through its focus on creating a decentralized internet, aiming to remove the middleman from content creation and distribution. Tron uses blockchain technology to enable content creators to receive direct compensation from consumers.

The Tron network supports smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps), providing a platform for developers to create and deploy their applications. It has its own native cryptocurrency, TRX, used to facilitate transactions on the network. Tron’s vision and current applications make it a unique and intriguing option for investors interested in the blockchain’s potential beyond financial transactions.

Investment Strategies for Bitcoin

Investing in Bitcoin requires a strategic approach, as its value can be highly volatile. Determining the right time to invest involves analyzing market trends, understanding the factors that influence Bitcoin’s price, and staying informed about global economic conditions.

Long-term investors, often referred to as “HODLers” in the crypto community, believe in Bitcoin’s potential for substantial growth over the years. They hold onto their investments through market fluctuations, aiming for substantial returns in the future. Short-term investors, on the other hand, aim to capitalize on Bitcoin’s price volatility, buying low and selling high in shorter time frames.

While Bitcoin has the potential for high returns, it also comes with risks. Its price can be affected by regulatory changes, security breaches, and market sentiment, making it imperative for investors to conduct thorough research and exercise caution.

Investment Strategies for Tron

Investing in Tron requires a different approach compared to Bitcoin. Understanding Tron’s market, its applications, and its potential for growth is crucial for making informed investment decisions.

Analyzing Tron’s value involves looking at its adoption rate, the success of DApps on its network, and the overall development of the Tron ecosystem. Like Bitcoin, Tron investments also come with risks and rewards. Its younger market and ambitious vision make it a potentially lucrative investment, but also introduce uncertainties that investors need to be aware of.

Diversifying Your Cryptocurrency Portfolio

A diversified portfolio is key to managing risk in the volatile cryptocurrency market. Balancing investments between Bitcoin, Tron, and other cryptocurrencies allows investors to spread risk and increase the potential for returns.

Understanding each cryptocurrency’s market behavior, technology, and potential for growth is crucial for creating a balanced portfolio. Regularly reviewing and adjusting investments based on market conditions and personal financial goals helps in maintaining a healthy and potentially lucrative portfolio.

Staying Informed and Secure

The fast-paced nature of the cryptocurrency market requires investors to stay informed about market trends, news, and technological developments. Utilizing reliable news sources, forums, and analytical tools helps in making timely and informed investment decisions.

Securing investments is equally important. Using secure wallets, enabling two-factor authentication, and being vigilant against phishing attacks are vital practices to protect investments from hacking and fraud.

Future Outlook and Trends

The future of Bitcoin, Tron, and the cryptocurrency market as a whole is subject to speculation and ongoing debate. Emerging technologies like decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are set to play a significant role in the evolution of the crypto space.

Government regulation is another crucial factor that could shape the future of cryptocurrencies. Clear regulatory frameworks can provide legitimacy and stability to the market, while stringent regulations could pose challenges.

Conclusion

Bitcoin and Tron offer unique investment opportunities in the dynamic world of cryptocurrencies. Understanding their technologies, market behaviors, and potential risks and rewards is crucial for making informed investment decisions. This guide has provided a deep dive into Bitcoin and Tron, aiming to equip potential investors with the knowledge they need to navigate the complex cryptocurrency market. The potential for high returns is significant, but so are the risks, making research, strategy, and security paramount.

Instagram brings Close Friends to posts and reels

0
[ad_1]

Instagram’s close friends feature is one of the most helpful features of the app. It lets you share content with a trusted group of people. Until now, it let you share stories or notes with a select group of people, but the feature is expanding to posts and reels.

Instagram now lets you limit posts and reels to Close Friends

Instagram is expanding its Close Friends feature to include feed Posts and Reels, allowing users to share more personal content with a smaller, more trusted audience. This feature was reported to be in the testing phase earlier, and now it comes live. Before you ask, what does it look like and how can you limit posts and reels to close friends? There we go.

Instagram Close Friends Posts Reels

To share a feed post or Reel with your Close Friends, tap the Audience button when creating the post, select Close Friends and then tap Share. Posts or Reels shared with Close Friends will have a green star icon.

Importantly, the Close Friends list remains consistent across Instagram features. However, Instagram is exploring additional methods for users to share content with a more intimate audience.

Last month, Instagram boss Adam Mosseri hinted at experiments enabling users to share Stories with specific followers. This looks identical to Facebook’s long-standing feature of customizable friend lists for post-sharing.

Possibly, a new potential revenue stream for content creators on Instagram

Most content creators have pretty much tried all third-party apps to sell subscriptions to their Close Friends stories. Needless to say, Instagram even introduced a “Subscriptions” model for these accounts which is a pay-to-watch exclusive content. Instagram refuses taking extra fees but there are platform fees charged by Apple and Google. However, with posts and reels limited to close friends, creators can earn an extra penny (depending on how they monetize it).

This feature also addresses the need for a more private space on Instagram, often referred to as a “finsta” (an account specifically for friends). Many accounts, especially those run by public figures, fear posting private content but this clears the way for it.

Researchers have discovered a new phishing campaign that targets Middle Eastern and North African Government Entities to deliver a new initial access downloader termed “IronWind.” This downloader is followed by additional payload stages, which downloads a shellcode.

Most campaigns were using Dropbox links, which then evolved to using XLL and RAR file attachments to evade detection mechanisms. Moreover, this threat actor activity overlaps with Molerats, Gaza Cybergang, Frankenstein, and WIRTE.

Weaponized XLL and RAR Files

The malicious actor employs a hijacked email account belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to launch phishing attacks against government entities in the Middle East.

The email utilized phishing tactics to deceive its recipients with a message related to economic affairs. The email contained a hyperlink to a Dropbox file, which once clicked, downloaded a harmful Microsoft PowerPoint Add-in (PPAM) file.

Protect Your Storage With SafeGuard

StorageGuard scans, detects, and fixes security misconfigurations and vulnerabilities across hundreds of storage and backup devices.

This file contains a macro that drops three files such as version.dll (IronWind), timeout.exe, and gatherNetworkInfo.vbs.

The timeout.exe file was used to sideload IronWin, which sends an HTTP GET request to the C2 domain (theconomics[.]net), according to the analysis of August 2023.

Once the C2 receives this request, it responds back with a shellcode, which is the third stage of the infection chain.

This shellcode uses .NET loaders to perform WMI queries and also downloads the fourth stage of the malware, which was another .NET executable that uses SharSploit, a .NET post-exploitation library written in C#.

Shifting from PPAM to RAR

The attachments were observed to shift from PPAM to RAR file in October 2023. The RAR file consists of a tabcal.exe file, which sideloads the IronWind and propsys.dll. Other stages of the malware delivery remained the same.

A complete report about this IronWind infection has been published by Proofpoint which provides detailed information about the threat actor, path of compromise, and other vital information.
