Lenovo now has clothing products for its tablet, believe it or not

Collaborations with the fashion industry are pretty common in the consumer electronics space, with companies trying to create buzz for their products. However, sometimes these collaborations go a bit too far. In an odd move, Lenovo decided to launch a clothing line specifically tailored to accommodate its new 14.5-inch Tab Extreme tablet.

How did the fashion line come to be?

It all started when Lenovo challenged three clothing brands—RANRA, Kit Wan Studios, and Maium—to design clothing with built-in compartments for its tablets. Part of the company’s marketing campaign, the clothing line aims to extend a user’s “me time” beyond their homes, enabling them to take their devices wherever they go.

Although carrying a 14-inch tablet in your jacket may not have crossed your mind, Lenovo says it could be super useful in certain situations outdoors, where while waiting for transport, one could simply unzip the jacket, take out the tablet, and get some work done. Furthermore, the company also referred to its 2022 study, showing that individuals who choose tablets as their main computing device also have a strong inclination towards fashion.

What does the clothing look like?

RANRA, based in London, designed the most conventional clothing, featuring a large central pouch with a hidden neck strap for hands-free usage. Additionally, it also includes an oversized hood design to reduce ambient noise and a hidden shoulder bag.

On the other hand, Maium’s pink jacket, while attention-grabbing, is suitable for all weather conditions, covering both arms and legs. However, what sets this jacket apart is its ability to inflate into a padded blanket or even a hammock.

Lastly, Kit Wan Studios, based in Hong Kong, took a more cyberpunk approach with a tactical vest featuring a modular clip-on system.

According to King Charles, the risks posed by AI technology need to be tackled with “a sense of urgency, unity and collective strength”. From his brief speech, there is a need that regulators to step up “to protect people’s privacy and livelihoods” from AI threats. This is necessary as it can affect the “economic and psychological well-being” of various AI users around the world.

Despite pointing out the need to keep AI under check, King Charles doesn’t underplay its importance. Certainly, the development of AI over the past few years has brought lots of advancements in various industries. Its growth is very important, but over the past few months, this growth has become rather concerning.

King Charles isn’t the only that sees the need for regulations guiding the usage or abuse of AI technology. In attendance at the UK AI Safety Summit was Elon Musk and he was also quick to point out the dangers of AI technologies. But wait, there is more. Meta enhances the insights experience, offering a weekly account highlights section within Insights. These insights shed light on your posting habits, audience engagement, and content performance.

Meta raises the bar with additional Reels metrics on the professional dashboard, including Reels-specific Reach categorized by followers and non-followers, a distribution score comparing your Reels’ performance against others, and an audience retention graph revealing viewer engagement over time.

While Meta strives to keep content creators happy, it is not as enthusiastic about pleasing authorities. Just recently, Europe extended the ban on targeted ads on Facebook and Instagram after concerns about how the company uses its users’ personal data. Hackers Hijacking Facebook Accounts

Ads featuring young women’s photos lure victims to download a malicious payload. Each click triggers an archive download, potentially 100,000 times. 

However, apart from this, some ads hit 15,000 downloads in 24 hours, mainly affecting males over 45.

In 2023, Meta found NodeStealer, an info-stealer enabling mass account takeovers. Initially linked to Vietnamese threat actors, it targets business users via Facebook Messenger with a custom-built JavaScript tool.

Vivo X100 images & camera details & samples shared

The Vivo X100 series is coming on November 13, and now we have some new info to share with you. The Vivo X100 surfaced in images, along with camera samples. Its main camera also got detailed in a separate leak.

Let’s first check out the images, though, shall we? If you take a look at the gallery below, you’ll be able to see the phone in orange and blue colors. The blue model seems to have glass on the back, but we’re not sure about the orange model.

It has some sort of horizontal pattern on its backplate, that’s for sure. It could be either glass, or perhaps vegan leather, or something similar. In any case, the device has a huge camera oreo on the back, which includes four cameras.

Well, the bottom camera is probably just a depth sensor, but we’ll have to wait and see. These images come from Jia Jingdong, a VP and chief of branding over at Vivo.

The backplate on this phone is curved towards the sides, and the camera oreo does protrude quite a bit. You’ll also notice the ZEISS branding on the back, as VIvo and ZEISS continue its collaboration. This phone will have the ZEISS T* coating for reflections. All of its physical buttons will sit on the right-hand side.

The Vivo X100 will utilize MediaTek’s most powerful processor

The company’s exec also mentioned the Dimensity 9300 chip, and the Vivo V3 ISP, amongst other things. The Vivo X100, X100 Pro, and X100 Pro+ will likely look almost the same, but there will be differences on the inside.

Also, a separate leak mentioned that the Vivo X100 will use the Sony IMX920 sensor from Sony for its main camera. That camera will also have an f/1.57 aperture lens. Ultrawide and tele-macro sensors will also be included on the phone. The Vivo X100 Pro+ is tipped to use Sony’s new LYT-900 camera sensor for its main shooter.

We’ll get all the details on November 13, when the Vivo X100 series will become official.

DarkGate, Which Abused Microsoft Teams, Leverages MSI Files

A new wave of cyberattacks has been discovered by Netskope Threat Labs, involving the use of SharePoint as a delivery platform for the notorious DarkGate malware. 

This alarming trend is driven by an attack campaign that exploits vulnerabilities in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, posing a serious risk to online security.

DarkGate: A Versatile Threat

DarkGate, also known as MehCrypter, emerged in the cybersecurity scene in 2018. 

Since then, it has become a popular choice among cybercriminals due to its versatile feature set, including HVNC (Hidden VNC), keylogging, information theft, and the ability to download and execute additional payloads. 

This malware variant has been involved in multiple campaigns in the past few months, making it a persistent and evolving threat.

The Infection Path

The recent DarkGate variant detected by Netskope Threat Labs follows a clever infection path. 

It begins with a phishing email, masquerading as a fake invoice containing a PDF document. 

Once opened, the PDF prompts the user to review a document, initiating the download of a CAB file.

Within this file lies an internet shortcut leading to the download of an MSI file, the entry point for DarkGate’s infiltration.

Once the MSI file is executed, a complex chain of loading techniques is triggered. 

DarkGate uses DLL side-loading techniques, hiding its presence by executing a fake version of the dbgeng.dll DLL file. 

This DLL, written in Delphi programming language, facilitates the execution of malicious payloads while avoiding detection.

Multiple Layers of Evasion

The malware’s evasion techniques are not limited to a single layer. 

DarkGate’s multi-stage loading process involves the use of AutoIt scripts, further concealing its intentions. 

These scripts construct a PE (Portable Executable) file, executing it through a callback function, adding another layer of complexity to its operation.

OPPO Find X7 Pro will use Sony’s new LYTIA camera sensor

The OPPO Find X7 Pro is the company’s upcoming flagship, and it will seemingly use Sony’s new LYTIA camera sensor. This information comes from Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster.

The camera sensor in question is called the Sony LYT-900, while the ‘LYT’ stands for ‘LYTIA’. This camera sensor will introduce a new DCG (Dual Conversion Gain) technology. That’s the “stacked design” tech that you’ve probably heard about lately.

This tech seemingly allowed Sony to offer the same level of image quality as 1-inch camera sensors can provide, but with a smaller footprint. The OnePlus Open, for example, has a stacked sensor, though a different one. The results are really, really good.

Now, according to Digital Chat Station, the OPPO Find X7 Pro will be the first to use this camera sensor. That is a bit odd, we’ll talk about that soon. In addition to the Find X7 Pro, however, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also expected to utilize it, and the Vivo X100 Pro+ as well.

We’ve already reported about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, while the Vivo X100 Pro+ news is fresh. So, the trio of truly powerful flagships from China will use this camera sensor, which is saying a lot.

OPPO’s flagship will also get Hasselblad’s expertise and color science benefits

They will, of course, differentiate in other ways, and the companies have plenty of ways to boost the performance of that sensor. Some may use variable apertures, others software features. The OPPO Find X7 Pro will have the benefit of Hasselblad’s expertise and color science. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra will include Leica lenses and expertise, while ZEISS’ optics will be included in the Vivo X100 Pro+.

All three smartphones are expected to provide great results in terms of photos, as did their predecessors. The OPPO Find X7 Pro is tipped to feature this camera sensor according to the tipster, and yet the Vivo X100 Pro+ will launch first. That doesn’t really make sense, but we’ll see what happens.

As a reminder, the Vivo X100 series is coming on November 13, in 10 days. Three smartphones are expected, including the Vivo X100 Pro+.

Europe to extend ban on targeted ads for Facebook and Instagram

Europe has been scrutinizing big tech companies seriously for a few years now, and it’s been working towards reigning in these companies’ powers. One of the aspects on which Europe has been focusing is how companies use citizens’ data. Meta received a temporary ban from showing targeted ads to users in the EU back in July, and now it seems the ban is getting extended, reports TechRadar.

Facebook and Instagram still won’t get targeted ads in Europe


For those of you who don’t know, targeted ads are personalized ads that an app delivers to you based on an analysis of your online behavior and interests. Europe doesn’t like that data collection and has been cracking down on it for a while now.  In July of this year, Norway’s Data Protection Authority (DPA) issued a temporary ban on Facebook and Instagram’s targeted ads. Norway isn’t a part of the European Union, but it’s a part of the European Economic Area. The ban was going to eventually expire, but it’s now about to be extended by Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC).

The new ban is going to be in effect for longer and covers the entire European Economic Area and countries like Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein.

It is unclear how long this ban extension will go on, and whether the European Union will ever let Facebook and Instagram get targeted ads in the region. Meta now has a new subscription option for European users that will get rid of ads entirely on its two biggest social media platforms. Maybe that will be the way to go forward for Meta in Europe – counting on people wanting ad-free Meta platforms instead of targeting personalized ads to them.

Multiple Cisco Services Engine Flaws- Upload Arbitrary Files

Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Cisco Services Engine associated with Arbitrary File Upload and Denial of Service assigned with CVEs CVE-2023-20195, CVE-2023-20196, and CVE-2023-20213.

The severity for these vulnerabilities ranges between 4.3 (Medium) and 4.7 (Medium).

These vulnerabilities were identified in the Cisco Identity Services Engine, which is an identity and access control policy platform that can be used to enforce compliance, enhance infrastructure security, and streamline service operations.

However, Cisco has released a security advisory and patches for fixing these vulnerabilities. 

CVE-2023-20195 and CVE-2023-20196: Cisco ISE Arbitrary File Upload Vulnerabilities

An authenticated threat actor can leverage these two vulnerabilities to upload arbitrary files to an affected device. However, as a prerequisite, the threat actors must have valid Administrator credentials on the affected device.

Cisco CDP is used to check which Cisco port is connected to a certain vSwitch along with properties of the Cisco switch such as the software version and device ID. The severity of this vulnerability has been given as 4.3 (Medium).
