Both Xiaomi 14 series smartphones have appeared on Geekbench ahead of launch. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are the devices in question. These two listings not only revealed their scores on Geekbench, but some specs too.

The Xiaomi 14 series surfaced on Geekbench right before the launch event

The two phones appeared with ‘23127PN0CC’ and ‘23116PN5BC’ model numbers. Based on the IMEI Database records, these are the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, basically.

Now, these two listings do confirm that both smartphones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, as expected. They will also come in variants with 16GB of RAM, it seems. That is a bit surprising for the regular Xiaomi 14 model, but it’s nice to see.

Android 14 is also mentioned here, as both phones will likely come with it pre-installed. HyperOS is not mentioned, but that’s the UI Xiaomi will use on both smartphones.

The Xiaomi 14 scored 1,698 points in the single-core, and 6,260 points in the multi-core test. The Xiaomi 14 Pro managed to hit 2,150 points in the single-core, and 6,892 points in the multi-core test. Do note that these are pre-release numbers, though.

Both the phones and HyperOS will debut on October 26

The Xiaomi 14 series and HyperOS will become official on October 26. That’s something Xiaomi confirmed earlier today. HyperOS is coming to replace MIUI, and will do that on a global scale, gradually.

Two Xiaomi 14 models will become official, while the ‘Ultra’ will likely launch at a later date. Both devices are expected to include very thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole at the top.

Powerful cameras are expected, along with Leica’s lenses and expertise. Each of the two devices will include an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and much more. Xiaomi is also expected to include LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage in both phones, the best of the best parts, essentially.

The Summit starts tomorrow, and chances are we’ll get to see the chip then, even though it will last for a couple of days. That’s the SoC Xiaomi will use in its new flagships. The company probably wanted to get a head start over its competition.

Additionally, even though the FIA granted the company permission to begin trials in 2020, Amazon has not received extended approval, as it requires hundreds of incident-free flight hours and the company has only completed 100 deliveries so far.

However, the introduction of drone deliveries for prescription medications could be a breakthrough for Amazon. This is because swift delivery is crucial in the case of medications, and it caters to individuals who are unwell and unable to collect their prescriptions in person.

Samsung has four battery suppliers for the Galaxy S24 series

Samsung is seemingly sourcing batteries for the Galaxy S24 series from four different suppliers. Regulatory listings have shown the new flagships with batteries manufactured by a Vietnamese firm, a Chinese firm, and two Indian firms. This may be the Korean behemoth’s most diverse battery supply strategy for a single smartphone lineup.

Smartphone companies usually source components from multiple suppliers to diversify risks and ensure competitive pricing and stable supply. Samsung does this too, despite manufacturing smartphone batteries on its own. The company’s Samsung SDI division operates several battery manufacturing plants around the world, including in India, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the US.

Safety Korea certifications revealed last month that the Galaxy S24 series will feature batteries made by Samsung SDI in Vietnam. China’s Ningde Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) and India’s Elentec India (a branch of the South Korean firm Elentec) were confirmed as the other battery suppliers for the new Samsung flagships. The same source has now listed another battery supplier for the lineup—Navitasys India.

The certification listings show that all four firms will supply batteries for the Galaxy S24+ (battery model number EB-BS926ABY) and Galaxy S24 Ultra (EB-BS928ABY). As of this writing, Safety Korea has only certified batteries from Navitasys India and ATL for the base Galaxy S24 (EB-BS921ABY and EB-BS922ABY). However, this doesn’t necessarily mean they are the only battery suppliers for the phone.

A four-pronged battery supply strategy for the Galaxy S24 series may be the most diverse yet from Samsung. The company has sourced batteries from three suppliers for several phones in the past. Samsung SDI, ATL, and LG Energy Solution have been its most common suppliers. The latter has missed out this time around, with the company going with two Indian manufacturers. Navitasis India has also previously supplied batteries to Samsung.

The new Samsung flagships will feature bigger batteries

Leaks have revealed that Samsung is increasing the battery capacity of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. The former is reportedly getting a 4,000mAh battery, a 100mAh increase over the Galaxy S23. The Plus model gets a 200mAh increase, taking its total capacity to 4,900mAh. The Ultra won’t see any change to its 5,000mAh battery. The two bigger phones will support 45W charging while the base model supports 25W charging. The new Samsung flagships are expected to go official in January 2024.

Google Messages has recently undergone a revamp, but according to a new report, the company is not yet done with the changes. Android Headlines reports that Google Messages will have a camera icon on the home screen.

It will be even easier to send pictures using Google Messages


Currently, to send a picture using Google Messages, you either have to go into the conversation and add it from the “Add” button, or take a photo from the camera app, go to the conversation, and select the image.

Although these methods aren’t that hard to begin with, Google is thinking of how to make this even easier. Reportedly, Google Messages will get an update that will have a new camera icon next to the search button. The camera icon will, understandably, open the camera app. You’ll see Select recipients pop up when you’ve taken the shot, and this will make sending it way easier.


However, this feature has not been rolled out yet and a public release date has not been specified. Google is currently also reportedly working on redesigning the share screen so it will be able to open in full-screen mode and you’ll be able to share stuff with your contacts easier. Administrator of E-Root marketplace arrested for selling credentials

Sandu Diaconu (31, Moldova) has been sentenced to extradition and removal from the United Kingdom for his role in administering the E-Root Marketplace.

This online platform was operational for several years and facilitated the sale of access to compromised computers globally. Diaconu, as the marketplace’s administrator, was found guilty of crimes associated with his actions.

According to the Department of Justice press release, Moldova has been charged with access device and computer fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, and access device fraud, together with a sealed co-defendant. 

The E-Root Marketplace had its domain name seized by Moldova. Following his arrest by the United Kingdom, he was ordered by the Westminster Magistrates’ Court to be extradited to the United States to face pending charges.
