The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite launched a couple of days ago. The phone got announced in India, and we were wondering in what markets will the phone be offered later on. Well, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite will be offered in the US, but under a different name.

This does make sense, as the Nord N20 was on offer since April last year. OnePlus did not officially confirm this, though. A user shared some evidence of this on the OnePlus forums. He dug around the archive containing software builds.

There, he spotted the OnePlus Nord N30 5G name, which more or less proves that a market-specific variant is coming. Chances are that this phone will be identical to the variant that already launched.

The device will be available from OnePlus directly, but also from T-Mobile. The phone’s FCC ID is also mentioned in this software library, which only further confirms that the phone is coming to the US.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite aka Nord N30 features three cameras on the back, and a flat display on the front. A display camera hole is included in the package, and the bottom bezel is slightly thicker than the rest of them.

The device features a 120Hz display, and a 108-megapixel main camera

This smartphone comes with a 6.72-inch fullHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 695 SoC, and it packs in 8GB of RAM. Two storage models were announced initially, 128GB and 256GB models. Both of them offer storage expansion, by the way.

A 5,000mAh battery is also included in the package, and the phone supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging. Android 13 comes pre-installed on the device, along with OxygenOS 13.1.

You will find a 108-megapixel main camera on the back of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. A 2-megapixel depth camera also sits on the back, and the same goes for a 2-megapixel macro camera.

Twitter’s legal troubles are mounting. A group of former contract workers for the company recently filed a proposed class action lawsuit accusing it of illegally laying them off without notice. Moreover, in a separate proposed class action, four Twitter vendors have alleged that the social media giant failed to overdue bills.

Filed in San Francisco federal court, the first lawsuit comes from former Twitter contract workers employed by Maryland-based staffing firm TEKsystems, Reuters reports. It alleges that the social media company fired workers without a prior 60-day notice mandated by US and California law. Twitter laid off several thousand contractual staff in mid-November last year, shortly after it fired more than half of its employees.

The other new lawsuit comes from a group of Twitter vendors. It accuses the company of failing to pay overdue bills ranging from around $40,000 to $140,000. According to a CNN report, captioning services company White Coat Captioning, consulting group YES Consulting and public relations firms Cancomm and Dialogue México filed this lawsuit in California Northern District Court. The overdue bills are for services these firms provided to Twitter last year.

These are just two of several such lawsuits against Twitter. At least five other cases against the company over last year’s mass layoffs are pending in San Francisco federal court. These include one that alleges Twitter CEO Elon Musk of gender discrimination. The firm is accused to have fired disproportionately more female employees than male employees. Attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan represents the plaintiffs in all of these cases.

“While Elon Musk seems to think he’s saving the company money by avoiding these obligations, we plan to show him that not meeting his responsibilities can be a lot more costly,” Liss-Riordan said in an emailed statement to Reuters. She has also filed complaints in private arbitration on behalf of more than 1,700 former Twitter employees and contractors. Workers employed by TEKsystems reportedly did not sign agreements to arbitrate legal disputes. Liss-Riordan also represents ex-Twitter workers who have filed complaints against the company with a US labor board.

In addition to these, Twitter reportedly also faces lawsuits from at least one landlord over unpaid rent, a private jet company for unpaid bills for executive flights, and an event production company for canceling a scheduled conference in November last year and leaving without paying the due bill. “Elon Musk told Twitter vendors that, if they want to get paid, then sue. Well, he’s now getting his wish,” Liss-Riordan told CNN. “Businesses, like employees, should not have to sue to get paid what they are owed.”

You might think that your online passwords are strong enough to prevent attackers from breaking into your apps, stealing your money, and hijacking your Amazon and eBay accounts. But thanks to AI, your industrial strength password might not be as hacker-proof as you thought.

An AI-based “password guessing” platform called PassGAN (password generative adversarial network) was able to solve 51% of the passwords it was attempting to crack in less than 60 seconds. It was able to figure out 71% of passwords in less than one day. That’s pretty scary and Home Security Heroes (via 9to5Google) released the results of a study that used PassGAN to try and discover 15.6 million passwords.
Before we get to the results, you can head over to the company’s website, type in a password you currently use or are planning to use, and see an estimate of how long it would take AI to crack it. For example, if you use phonefan99 as a password, it would take AI only 6 months to figure it out. On the other hand, using supercalifragilisticexpialidocious would take AI 6 Quadrillion years to figure out.

The study showed that 51% of common passwords can be figured out using AI in under a minute. 65% of such passwords can be cracked in less than an hour. AI can figure out 71% of common passwords in less than a day, and 81% of common passwords can be cracked in under one month. PassGAN has the capability to “autonomously learn the distribution of real passwords from actual password leaks.”

To protect yourself from an AI “password guessing” platform, you need to make your passwords at least 12 characters long using a combination of upper, and lowercase letters plus numbers and symbols. A 12-character password made up of only numbers can be cracked in under 25 seconds. Using upper and lower case letters, it will require 289 years to discover and if you add numbers, upper and lower case letters, and symbols, your password could be safe from AI for 30,000 years.

An 18-character password using lowercase letters could be safe from AI for 22 million years while adding uppercase letters extends that protection to 7.23 billion years according to the study.

Other suggestions include the use of two-factor authorization (2FA). When you sign into an app, a code is sent to your phone which you will need to enter in order to open said app. Also,  do not use the same password for multiple accounts and apps. When possible, use auto-generated passwords and update your passwords often, especially for banking and other financial apps. Additionally, you are advised not to log in to financial and other sensitive apps via a public Wi-Fi network unless you want to get ripped off.

It might seem like hard work to keep your passwords safe, but it is well worth the effort to prevent an attacker from breaking into your important apps and accounts.

Though this product is now banned from selling on Amazon, sellers have other places to sell it without any restrictions. Flipper Zero has no service in India, instead of which users can use etsy to buy Flipper Zero.

The Brazilian Government has seized the purchases of Flipper Zero, as many threat actors are using it for alleged criminal activities. The sellers in Brazil claimed that despite all attempts to certify the device, the Brazilian National Telecommunication agency had rejected the device.

As per reports, it is still unclear whether this ban is a temporary or a permanent ban from the platform. Following this, there might be bans from other e-commerce platforms also.

A recent rumor said that iOS 17 will be a bigger update than initially expected. Well, according to a new piece of info, iOS 17 may actually bring “major” changes to the Control Center.

This information comes from a MacRumors forum member who accurately leaked details regarding the Dynamic Island feature last year. So, he does have some credibility.

He said that iOS 17 will be focused on “performance and stability improvements”. In addition to that, he added that a revamped Control Center is in the cards. That will also be one of the major changes in iOS 17.

We do not know what changes to expect, however. The tipster did not share any specifics. Apple will obviously drastically change something, and it’s anyone’s guess what that is. Perhaps we’ll get more customization options, or Apple plans to change up the design completely.

We’ll have to wait in order to find out. The good news is, we won’t have to wait until September, when the new iPhones are expected. Apple will host its WWDC keynote on June 5, where the company will announce iOS 17. That’s when we’ll get more info about the OS.

Initial reports were saying that iOS 17 will be a rather modest update, but more recent ones report something else entirely. Don’t expect an update to the level of iOS 16 in terms of changes, but it seems like we’ll get some decent features as part of it.

The Control Center change does make sense with iOS 17. Why? Well, it was introduced 10 years ago, so this is a perfect time for Apple to make some changes. It’s not like Apple never changed it, but it has been in this form for a long time.

The malicious use of Telegram is not surprising as the platform has been referred to as the “New Dark Web” in a previous report.

Cybersecurity experts at Kaspersky have identified a new trend in phishing techniques, with threat actors increasingly utilizing Telegram to automate their activities and provide various services.

In a recent advisory, Kaspersky web content analyst Olga Svistunova revealed that phishers create Telegram channels to educate their audience about phishing and share links to these channels via YouTube, GitHub, and phishing kits. Many of these channels offer tools to automate malicious workflows, such as generating phishing pages or collecting user data.

While the phishing kits used in these campaigns are relatively basic, typically consisting of a script that captures user credentials and forwards them to a bot, Svistunova noted that they are still effective. For example, victims clicking on links promising incentives like 1000 likes on TikTok may be presented with a convincing login form that resembles the real thing.

Kaspersky also observed Telegram channels used for selling online banking credentials, with scammers extracting and selling account balances, charging higher prices for accounts with higher balances.

Additionally, some Telegram channels were found to be advertising phishing-as-a-service operations, offering subscriptions with customer support for regular updates on phishing tools, anti-detection systems, and links generated by phishing kits.

The malicious use of Telegram is not surprising as the platform has been referred to as the “New Dark Web” in a report from 2021 from Cyware. Furthermore, there have been numerous reports highlighting how Telegram groups have become a central hub for selling malware, bots, and ransomware, as well as announcing attacks by criminal gangs.

Despite the various techniques employed by phishers on Telegram, Kaspersky highlighted that there are ways to identify them, such as detecting malicious sites generated by phishing bots that are hosted in the same domain or share parts of HTML code. Since the emergence of these domains, Kaspersky has detected a total of 1483 attempts to access pages located within them.

The growing use of Telegram by phishers highlights the need for continued vigilance and awareness of evolving phishing techniques in the cybersecurity landscape.

Protection against phishing attacks

While common sense is a valuable defence against phishing scams, here are 5 effective ways to protect yourself and your organization from falling victim to phishing attacks:

  • Be cautious with emails: Do not click on any suspicious links or download any attachments from unknown senders. Verify the legitimacy of emails, especially those requesting sensitive information, by double-checking the sender’s email address and looking for signs of phishing, such as misspelled words or unusual requests.
  • Avoid sharing personal information: Do not share sensitive information, such as passwords, social security numbers, or credit card details, over email or other communication channels unless you are certain of the recipient’s identity and the security of the communication channel.
  • Keep software up-to-date: Regularly update your operating system, web browsers, and all software installed on your devices. This helps to patch security vulnerabilities that can be exploited by phishing attacks.
  • Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA): MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring additional authentication, such as a fingerprint, a text message code, or a hardware token, in addition to your password. This can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to phishing attacks.
  • Educate yourself and be vigilant: Stay informed about the latest phishing techniques and trends. Be wary of unexpected emails or messages, especially those that create a sense of urgency or ask for immediate action. Think twice before clicking on links or providing personal information, and report any suspicious emails or messages to your IT department or the relevant authorities. Always practice vigilance and scepticism when dealing with online communications.

As promised, Samsung is bringing the Image Clipper feature from the Galaxy S23 series to its older Galaxy devices. More precisely, the Galaxy S22 series is getting this new feature with the latest update. The April update for the 2022 Galaxy flagships is rolling out widely across the world.

Samsung began updating the Galaxy S22 series to the April security patch a couple of days back. The update was first released in the US. However, the company’s official changelog didn’t mention the Image Clipper feature. Since then, the new SMR (Security Maintenance Release) has reached the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in Europe, Latin America, and South Korea as well. The company continued to omit the addition of the new feature in the changelog, but some users could find it after updating their phones.

Image Clipper is a new Gallery feature that Samsung introduced with One UI 5.1 for the Galaxy S23 series. It lets you quickly crop out part of an image. You can press and hold onto an object in the image with your finger or the S Pen (on supported models) and it will be cropped out instantly.

It can be saved as a separate image or copied to paste it elsewhere else. You can also share the cropped image directly without saving it. Galaxy S22 users will get this feature after installing the April update.

If you’re using a Galaxy S22 series device, the latest update should arrive with one of the following firmware build numbers depending on your region: S90*U1UES2CWCC (US unlocked), S90*EXXU4CWCE (Latin America), S90xBXXU4CWCG (Europe), and S90*NKSU3CWCE (South Korea).

Once you have installed this update, go to the Gallery app, open a photo, and long-press on it. If Image Clipper is available, the object should be cropped out as a separate image.

More Galaxy devices will get Image Clipper

The Galaxy S22 series isn’t the only one to get the Image Clipper feature. Reports say Samsung will push this feature to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20, and all recent Galaxy foldables. The company has already pushed the April security update to most of these devices, but the changelogs didn’t mention anything.

If you have updated your Galaxy device to the April security patch, you can check for the new feature in the Gallery app. To update your phone, go to the Settings app, tap on Software Update, and then on Download and Install.

Why did Italy ban the Chatbot?

Additionally, the Garante also raised concerns about the software exposing minors to harmful content due to the lack of suitable age verification procedures. As a result, OpenAI now has 20 days to address these concerns, or the company could face a fine of up to €20 million or 4% of its annual worldwide turnover.

OpenAI, on the other hand, has rejected these allegations and expressed its commitment to protecting users’ privacy by minimizing the collection of personal data. “We also believe that AI regulation is necessary, so we look forward to working closely with the Garante and educating them on how our systems are built and used,” says an OpenAI spokesperson. In addition, the company has announced a refund for all Italian users who had subscribed to its premium plan while halting subscription renewals in the country.

Furthermore, the Italian government’s decision to ban the chatbot has also sparked concerns among other EU countries, including France, Germany, and Ireland, which are closely monitoring the situation. Nonetheless, for the time being, using a VPN is the only option for Italians who want to access ChatGPT.

YouTube Music is constantly issuing changes to its UI that make the app look just a little different. According to 9To5Google, there’s a new update that you’ll see when you’re browsing for your music. YouTube Music is bringing a new grid view for the library tab.

This new grid view is still in testing, so there’s a chance that you won’t see it. It was discovered by a user on Reddit, so the company is most likely testing it out on a limited group of users. We’re not sure when it’s going to make it to other users.

This is a pretty big change to the library tab. Currently, when you go to your library tab, you’ll see all of the items presented in a vertically scrolling list. The list will show you a pretty compact list of items with about eight items showing up on the screen on average. You get information like what kind of item it is, the number of tracks, the artist, the year, who created the list, etc.

If you got the update, you’ll see a new icon on the upper right of the UI that will show you the new grid view. You’ll see each item turn into a large block with all of the information sitting under them. Each row will have two items, and they will take up more space.

This isn’t the change for you if you want to have more content on the screen. Whereas the list view will show you about eight items, this new grid view will show you about six items on the screen. So, if you don’t like it, you can change it back to the list view.

Even though the view in the library is a grid view, you’ll still see a list view when you tap on it. So, the tracks in the playlist/album won’t be in a grid view. If you want to keep an eye out for this change, make sure that your app is updated.
